Many of us can recognize ineffective patterns in our lives, but don't necessarily have the tools to tackle or change them on our own. Sometimes, coping skills that have worked in the past are no longer effective. I offer a supportive environment in which to learn more effective skills and cultivate emotional stability.
I provide counseling for adults in a supportive, safe and confidential setting. I welcome all races, religions, gender identifications and sexual orientations. I let you determine the course and focus of our work together and work collaboratively with you to build a therapeutic plan that best suits that your needs and inidividual style preferences. My therapeutic style is based in mindfulness techniques, which focus on increasing an individual's awareness of ineffective and effective behaviors and patterns; ability to stay present in the moment and thus have the most impact on changing these patterns; and an understanding of the skills used to facilitate and maintain emotional stability. I believe that everyone has the right to affordable counseling and I offer a sliding fee scale and multiple therapeutic options to meet your personal needs. I also encourage people to utilize a free 30 minute consult, before beginning therapy with me, to help determine if I will be a good fit as your therapist.
